چکیده
We study Majorana zero-mode properties in cylindrical cross-section semiconductor quantum wires based on the effective-mass theory and a discretized lattice model. Within this model influence of disordered potentials wire as well amplitude phase fluctuations superconducting order parameter are discussed. find that for typical geometries, pairing potentials, spin-orbit coupling strengths, between quasi-one-dimensional subbands is weak, low-energy quasiparticles near Fermi energy nearly completely spin polarized, number electrons active topological states less than 10.

Boosting Majorana zero modes
One-dimensional topological superconductors are known to host Majorana zero modes at domain walls terminating the topological phase. Their nonabelian nature allows for processing quantum information by braiding operations which are insensitive to local perturbations, making Majorana zero modes a promising platform for topological quantum computation. Motivated by the ultimate goal of executing ...

متن کاملUbiquitous Nonlocal Entanglement with Majorana Zero Modes.
Entanglement in quantum mechanics contradicts local realism and is a manifestation of quantum nonlocality. Its presence can be detected through the violation of Bell, or Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt (CHSH) inequalities. Paradigmatic quantum systems provide examples of both, nonentangled and entangled states. Here, we consider a minimal complexity setup consisting of six Majorana zero modes. We fi...
